This iS My ARt..wElcome to my world..Rhea Dela Rosa’s style is impressionism in color and realism in brushstrokes. Her technique is based on the realization of rudimentary art of its need for self discipline, which desire to develop the power of creating.

Rhea Dela Rosa was born on the 10th of November, in Sta. Cruz, Manila. She is the youngest of the three children of Ibarra Dela Rosa, a well-known Filipino artist and Demetria. Her father taught her to draw at the age of two. Her father required them the “one drawing a day” as part of their training. At seven, she started exhibiting her oil pastels along with her brothers. Then at fourteen she transformed her medium into oil paint. She took up Fine Arts major in Advertising at Far Eastern University and graduated cum laude in 1994. She worked in an advertising firm and became Junior Art Director. But her genes had a much stronger pull and now she is a full-time painter and a digital artist.

Her father, Ibarra had a huge impact on her being an artist. Her paintings as proof of his influence on her but she now evolved into her own style. Being in the family of artists, with the guidance of her father, Ibarra, at an early age, truly said that it is in her blood to become one like him, an artist. Her training is not of the muscles but of the eye and ear, or more precisely, of the imagination by which we become able to discriminate shades of form and sound which we previously had not observed to be distinct. Nature inspires her greatly. Beauty in nature which is harmony, unity in diversity, symmetry, congruity recognized. She admire artists for their personal emotions and perception in terms of using colors and for their different techniques and styles. She paints in order to see in making the work, she has been trying to see something for herself; in publishing she is trying to show the same thing to others. The image she is about to paint is always going to be her masterpiece; “the artist does not paint for an audience, but for himself; and it is only by truly satisfying himself that he can truly satisfy others.”

Discipline and extensive training from her father is the primary reason she got to where she is today. Her constant transformation that’s taking place in her art have come from within.
